Conscious Art of Play by Sarka

We would like to invite you to a unique two and half days workshop that never happened in Basel before!

A combination of basic skills of Shibari (Japanese art technique of tying) in addition to working consciously and creatively with body, mind, and psyche. Elements of fundamental human dynamics will be introduced in a safe and playful setting while enhancing your level of presence, finding stillness within yourself, using your intuition and deepening awareness through various body practices such as meditation, yoga, breathwork, movement, and contact. Safety is a key and the first thing we will accommodate as facilitators and as a group.

You will learn how to

  • Confidently handle and play using basic Shibari rope techniques

  • Express feelings, emotions and desires in contact with others

  • Set clear intentions and express your boundaries and barriers

  • Experience different qualities and intensities of physical and mental touch on both the giving and the receiving side

  • Learn how to consciously use control, to let go and surrender to the sensations in your body

  • Create safety in contact with others

  • Understanding basic underlying biophysical processes (especially the consequences of hormonal release during and after play)

Overall, in these two and half days you will expand the levels of your emotional, mental and physical awareness along with unleashing your creativity.

Are you curious and keen to learn?

We would love you to join!

Sarka

Is a Czech born and Berlin-based bodyworker, yoga teacher, retreat and workshop organizer (internationally), conscious sexuality coach with experience in and passion for body mechanics, movement, dance, and martial art. Since 2013 she has been connected to the Schwelle7 project in Berlin (an artistic & educational venue for body/mind/conscious sexuality practices) created by Felix Ruckert by whom she has been highly inspired and influenced. She likes to inspire people around her and shares different perspectives on living life. She has studied psychology at London university which helps her to differentiate subtle aspects of the human psyche and its processes.

She likes exploring limits of different intensities, intensities of both subtle nature and the extreme. She invites you to be a part of this magical and transformative space ‘in between’ where change occurs.

‘’Learning is movement from moment to moment’’ (Krishnamurti)

Fabian / RopuNawa

Has been tying since 2008 after discovering Shibari/Kinbaku in Australia. The last 3 years he focused more on the Japanese way to tie, different styles and approaches to the rope, especially tying with a small amount of rope - "less is more".
His goal always is to connect with his tying partner in a nonverbal way. He is regularly traveling around to different places to learn new styles and broaden his experience, including a trip to the Japanese Bakushis in Winter 2017.
He runs a small dojo in the heart of Basel, with weekly meetings and regular workshops.

Janina

Is a Viennese medical doctor and neuroscientist now situated in Basel. In the last years, her passion for music, dancing and competitive sport combined with her curiosity and empathy for people made her increasingly interested in using various techniques of (non-)verbal communication as well as further understanding the corresponding underlying, biological processes.
When teaching, she especially enjoys helping to form emotionally intense moments of clarity and understanding.
Presently, her main focus is on the play with rope as well as medical aspects and caveats while doing so.
